Now this BMI chart is much more sensible
I really have no time for the regular BMI charts. The people most likely to refer to them are those who end up stressing over their weight and so turn to diets. Diets which ultimately have them going round in weightloss/weight gain circles.
So while diet companies may love to refer to standard BMI charts, I don’t. My view is that, dependent on your height, if you are between a size 6 and a 16, and you exercise at least 3 times a week, you are likely to be healthy enough. If you want to lose a few extra pounds to feel better about yourself then great, but generally speaking I think we need to move away from the standard BMI targets and into a healthier and happier place.
As such, I was glad to come across this Smart BMI Calculator as it takes more than a one-size-fits-all approach. Bravo to whoever put this together – its a step in the right direction to a healthy and happy lifestyle and away from obsession and diet misery.
