I love Parkrun
This week, my run group did a partial takeover at our local Parkrun. As you may know, Parkrun is free. Parkrunners meet every Saturday at 9am at places all over the world. It stays free with the help of people volunteering for roles on the day. This week around 20 of my group took over the volunteering undertaking roles such as marshalling, tail walking, timekeeping, giving out finish tokens and putting all 600+ tokens back in order at the end ready for the following week. It was a very busy morning but all went really well and we all had a great time as you can see in the photos!
If you are considering running, why not check out your local Parkrun. It’s a great supportive atmosphere and no matter how slow you think you may be (lots walk the entire 5k), you will never be last as every event in the UK has a Tail Walker and they do exactly as their title suggests – they walk with the last person home.
